Nadaswaram
Nadaswaram is an integral part of Hindu wedding. Nadaswaram is a woodwind instrument that resembles the western clarinet. The incorporation of nadaswaram into this function has been done many years ago. This might be due to several reasons. One of the reasons might be that every auspicious occasion has a melodious music associated with it. Presently, it is mainly used to signal the important portions of the wedding ceremony. Nowadays, more percussion is also incorporated into the wedding ceremony. A visible example is the inclusion of singari melam for welcoming the bride & groom.
